Roasted Brussel Sprouts recipe:
Pan cooking time: 15-20mins / Baking time: 30-40mins / Oven Temperature: 425F
You will need:
Brussel Sprouts - 14 oz bag (400grams approximately)
Garlic - 4 cloves or more
Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
Soy sauce - 1-2 tablespoons
Paprika - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Salt - as per taste
Cheese - of choice
Step 1: Cut brussel sprouts in half lengthwise so the leaves stay intact, and chop the garlic cloves.
Step 2: I like to leave the cut brussel sprouts in water until I am ready to use them, to wash off any dirt that may be stuck between the leaves.
Step 3: In a large mixing bowl take the chopped garlic, olive oil, soy sauce, spices and salt.
Step 4: Throw in the brussel sprouts and mix everything.
Step 1: Place the mixture in a baking dish and bake in 425F preheated oven for about 30-40 mins.
Step 2: 5 mins before pulling the dish out of the oven sprinkle some cheese of your choice and let it finish baking. Sprinkle some crushed red pepper and enjoy.
Pan fried version
Step 1: Place the brussel sprouts in a frying pan with a few drops of olive oil. Keep an eye, stir often, and add more soy sauce if desired. This will be ready in 15-20 mins.
I make the fried version when I don't have time or when I am too hungry because its quicker. Sprinkle some crushed red pepper and enjoy.
A splash of red wine while pan frying the brussel sprouts will add a nice flavor.
